Travels with Taga

Before Taga went back to Japan we decided to take a road trip

because he hadn't seen any of the National Parks.

He just went to Las Vegas five times.

We had an incredible marathon road trip.

He called it a, "very hard trip."

Our road trip featured:

  • Day 1: Sleeping on a gas station parking lot full of small cacti.

  • Day 2: Drive to and hike five hours down into the Grand Canyon.

  • Day 3: Drive through Monument Valley. See a sunset in Canyonlands.
    Sleep in Moab. Have only shower on trip.

  • Day 4: Rent Mountain Bikes. Ride Slickrock. Camp by the Colorado River.

  • Day 5: Tour Arches NP. Hike 7 miles in Arches NP.
    Drive to Capital Reef NP.

  • Day 6: Hike 3 miles around Capital Reef.
    Drive through Bryce Canyon without realizing it.
    Drive scenic Highway 12: Snowball fight at 10000 feet.
    Drive to Las Vegas. Gamble. Drive to San Diego.

  • We did almost 2000 miles driving and had a blast.
